We are asking for your support for the McPherson family as they face every parent’s worst nightmare — childhood cancer.
Hannah and Brendon welcomed their identical twin daughters, Molly and Zoe, in 2020. Both girls are bright, loving, and full of life. In November 2025, what the family believed was a burst appendix turned into something unimaginable. Zoe was diagnosed with an extremely rare liver cancer called hepatoblastoma, affecting just 1 in 1 million children.
Zoe underwent major surgery to remove the tumour and is currently receiving chemotherapy at the Children’s Hospital in Brisbane. Sadly, the family received devastating news recently — the cancer has spread to Zoe’s lungs, and the tumour has regrown in her liver. Zoe now faces many more months of intensive chemotherapy and further surgeries.
The McPherson family has relocated from their home in Grafton to Brisbane so Zoe can receive lifesaving treatment. While they have been able to secure hospital accommodation close to the hospital, the financial pressure is overwhelming.
Molly has not wanted to leave her twin sister’s side and has begun her very first year of school through the hospital school. Hannah has taken unpaid leave and Brendan is on extended leave so they can both be with their daughters during this incredibly difficult time.
We are raising funds to help ease the financial burden on the McPherson family — to assist with living expenses, travel costs, and time away from work — so they can focus entirely on caring for Zoe and supporting one another.
Any donation, no matter how small, will make a meaningful difference. If you are unable to donate, please consider sharing this page.
Thank you for your kindness, generosity, and support.
With heartfelt thanks,
Roxy (Hannah’s sister) & Krista (Hannah’s friend)
UPDATE 5/2/26
Little Zoe has done well to get through multiple rounds of chemo to hit it hard and fast! Sadly this means she has started to loose her precious hair. On the upside, the girls got a few days at home and even made it to school for a day! It is the small wins we celebrate for the McPherson’s ❤️ we will know more about Zoe’s condition next week.
