On June 30th the world lost one of it's brightest lights with the passing of Karen McNeil. As I sit and search for the words to express what she means to all of us, I can't help but cry. From the second I met Karen we were instant friends, many would say partners in crime. She just has that quality that draws you in and makes you love her. As I got to know Karen I also was lucky enough to get to know her family. Her husband Chris and sons Sean, Devin, and Darryl. I even got the privilege to get to know her mother, who I always just call Mommy, because that's what she always introduces her as. The love and bond that the McNeil family has is truly inspiring. I can't even begin to describe the devastation of losing Karen so suddenly and the impact it has had on her family. Karen was always the first person to offer a hand to others and was always willing to go above and beyond to make sure people were taken care of. I have had so many people asking me what they can do to help. I have asked her family and I know they are not one's to ask for anything of others.
So, I have decided to start a gofundme to help ease the burden and stress of what the next days, weeks, and months will hold for her family. All of the money raised will go directly to Karen's family to help with funeral costs, travel costs, and other expenses in this very sad time. I also ask that you please leave a comment with a memory you have with Karen. The world seems so dark without her, but I know we all have amazing memories and funny stories to tell. While it won't ever erase the pain it may just bring a smile to our faces, just as Karen always has.
I will try to update this page as I can, but would also like to ensure her family the privacy they need right now. Please keep the McNeil family in your thoughts and prayers.
