Support the McMahon Family in Memory of Miles
Donation protected
Hi Joint Base Andrews Mental Health Family, Fellow 4Cs, & Friends,
I have contacted most of you today under the unimaginable circumstances that Tom, Dominique (formerly Hall), and their son Aiden tragically lost their son and brother, Miles, this week. Nothing can replace him, but easing their financial burden will help during this awful time. Please pass along discreetly because they are unaware of this effort.
The McMahon Family shared this on Facebook today,
"We are absolutely crushed by the loss of our Beloved Son, Miles. Though we haven’t responded to those that have shown support over the last several days we want to share our thanks to all.
Thank you to our neighbor that rang the bell to tell us Miles had escaped. Thank you to our neighbor that dropped everything he was doing to jump in his car and begin searching for Miles. Thank you for those that I met on the path to Stethem Park that tried to give me comfort and reassurance. Thank you to those strangers I stopped on the street who promised to keep a look out for my little boy. Thank you for those that organized and went searching in the woods. I could hear you calling his name. Thank you for those that came with flashlights in the night. Thank you for those that walked with me and drove me around and played his favorite song to draw him out into the open where we could see.
Thank you to those who kept watch at the lake and surrounded my husband, never leaving his side. Thank you for those that bore witness to and shared our pain. Thank you to those who surrounded us in prayer. Thank you to those who walked us home. Thank you to those that sat with us and kept our other son company.
Thank you to those who came after. Those who knocked and rang and those that left flowers, cards, food and money quietly on our doorstep when we wished it would all just go away. Thank you for those that put up the fence that now surrounds the pond that took Our Baby. Thank you for the memorial by the tree.
Thank you to all emergency response personnel; Police, Fire, Dog Handlers, Divers and all others that were involved in our search. Thank you for the hands that are caring for Miles right now. If there is anyone we forgot to thank, Thank you. Please, in the future if you should ever see a child on his own.
Please go to him and keep him safe so that other parents will not have to endure the horror that we must.
Miles’ school has organized a Candle-light Vigil on Friday, October 18 at 7:00 pm. We hope to see you there.
There will be a viewing and service for Miles on Thursday, October 24 at 10:00 and 11:00 am at the Briscoe-Tonic Funeral home in Waldorf, MD. If you know Miles or our family, we wish that you would come show your support and say a final goodbye.
We will also have a celebration of life at a later date for the community at-large. We will share those details when we have them.
The McMahons"
For every person who answered my text or DM, thank you so much for showing up--One thing about serving, is we all fall in fast for each other.
xoxo,
