Support the McFarlan Family with Mold Remediation

My name is Ken Olsen, and I'm raising funds for the McFarlan family (Keaton, Alyssa, and their two young children) who live in the Waukee community. We attend church with the McFarlans, and I also attend a men's group that Keaton helped start. The McFarlans are currently going through a difficult time as their basement recently flooded. They immediately ripped out all carpet and planned to just replace the bottom portions of drywall; however, testing revealed toxic mold that must be remediated before any other work can be done.

The timing of this is really poor because all of this happened around one week before Alyssa delivered their new baby girl. They have not been able to bring their new baby into their home due to the mold. They need to hire professional help to remediate the entire basement of mold before the basement can be remodeled. The have received a number of quotes - depending upon the work they have done, the cost could be anywhere from $15,000 - $35,000. None of the expenses are covered by insurance.

Keaton & Alyssa would never ask for help, but God has laid it on my heart to start this fundraiser to provide them with financial support. I ran the idea by our men's group, and every group member agreed that they want to provide support as well. We will provide a good start to the fundraiser, but we need additional help to hit the target goal of $10,000. Any donation amount you can provide is very much appreciated! All funds raised (minus any GoFundMe fees) will go directly to the McFarlan family to help cover their costs.
