Hi everyone,
We are the McCoy family (Jason, Rebecca, and Alex), and we're reaching out for your help. When our son, Alex, graduated from high school, we decided to move to a new neighborhood to reduce our rent and give Alex better access to pursue a career in cinematography. However, on the very same day we got the keys to our new home, the company Jason worked for sold off all its assets and closed up overnight, leaving us in an unexpected and difficult financial situation. With the cost of our move and regular monthly bills, we have burned through our savings and maxed out our credit cards.
Jason has been actively searching for new employment, but the market has been difficult for him.
Rebecca is trying to start a company selling handmade bags, but without the support income from Jason, it has been difficult.
Alex is searching for his first job, but despite his certification, he has had a hard time finding work.
With no steady income, we’re afraid of losing our home and the stability our family depends on. Rent and utility bills are piling up, and we have debts that need to be addressed urgently. With your support, we hope to get through this tough time and get back on our feet.
Here’s how your contribution will help:
- Rent: Keeping a roof over our heads is our biggest concern right now.
- Utilities: Ensuring we have access to electricity, water, and other essential services.
- Debt payments: Reducing the financial pressure caused by past debts and helping us avoid further penalties.
What we are currently doing for ourselves:
- Food assistance: We applied for and were approved for food assistance in our state, and we visited local food banks for food essentials.
- Utilities assistance: We applied for assistance with utilities, but have not received anything yet.
- Assistance from family: We have received some assistance from other family members, but they are also living with tight budgets and cannot assist us any further.
- Temporary jobs: Jason has been driving for Uber Eats and DoorDash. Unfortunately, the pay is minimal, and every hour he spends driving is an hour he cannot look for work.
Anything you can contribute will make a significant difference. If you’re not able to donate, please consider sharing this campaign with others. Your kindness and generosity will not only help us pay these urgent bills but also allow Jason to focus on finding a new job without the fear of losing our home.
Our initial goal of $5,000 will help us through another month with rent and other bills. Anything above that goal will help us pay down debt and potentially help Rebecca purchase more supplies to start her business.
