Support the McClelland Family

UPDATE:  On Wednesday, November 25, 2020 Brian & Robyn received the devastating news that his tumor is a Stage IV Glioblastoma (Brain
Cancer).  His plan is to pursue treatment that will beat this cancer not only for himself but to blaze a trail for others that follow.  Because of the intensive treatment he will endure, he is going to be out of work indefinitely.  Any assistance that is provided would be used at first for basic needs of his family with a goal of any remaining funds to be used towards the assistance of other families that find themselves suddenly in life altering circumstances. Brian's attitude is incredible and he is ready to fight! If you are given the chance to spend any time with him, you will leave inspired and energized and will want to join his team to help beat this and make the world a better place. Please help to support him and his incredible family - no amount is too small.

Our dance community is made up of hundreds of wonderful families and incredible staff members. One of our most involved families (and integral staff members) is in need of our help as they deal with a devastating situation.

On Sunday, November 15, 2020 Brian McClelland went to Massachusetts General  Hospital complaining of headaches, nausea, fatigue, and sensitivity to light. What was presumed to be migraines or perhaps unstable sugar levels turned out - shockingly - to be a brain tumor. Brian had brain surgery on Tuesday, November 17 to remove a tumor from the right side of his brain. Because he is such a strong and otherwise healthy man, he did very well in surgery and was able to come home 72 hours later. However, the unknown road ahead is going to be challenging and long.

The McClelland family has been an integral part of Allegro Dance Academy since the doors first opened in 2006. Their daughter, Tatum is now a senior with hopes to pursue dance in college. Brian has been so supportive of his daughter and the rest of the studio - always present and helpful at performances, competitions and other events. Most know him as our Head of Security at recital year after year. Robyn has been a member of our staff for 14 years and goes above and beyond for every dance family for whatever they need - whether it be dance-related or personal. If anyone has ever needed help, the McClellands have been there to help them and now it’s our turn to return that love and generosity. Please consider a donation of any amount to help them during this very difficult time which will include time off for work for both Robyn and Brian as he goes through recovery from this major surgery and treatments.

Robyn and Brian are very private and really do NOT like asking for help but as their friends, we want to help them during this very difficult season in their lives.
