Tis the season to be so THANKFUL for all that we have. And in honor of our many blessings, please help us to further support our LONG TIME, beloved Crossfit Delray Beach member Tommy McArdle and his dear wife who have recently suffered through both a tramatic and expensive medical emergency.
Tommy & Courtney are the proud parents of three adorable children and one of the most kind families you will ever encounter. Unfortunately, Courtney was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis, an autoimmune disease similar to Crohn's that cannot be cured. She has powered through flares sending her in and out of the hospital since 2008, however, the worst struck her this October. Courtney was taken to Bethesda West, then transferred to the Cleveland Clinic in Weston so she could be cared for by a specialized GI team. She spent 38 days in the hospital undergoing various treatments and was finally released last week.
Courtney 5'5" is down to 88lbs. She can't move, stand, or walk on her own and due to her extended hopsital stay has missed out on many events with her children and family including Thanksgiving and their son Owen's, 3rd birthday.
This is sure to be a long and slow recovery, but luckily, Courtney is already seeing improvements, has begun eating, and gained a few pounds. This is thanks in part to a medical treatment, Remicade, which can only be administered via an IV. Here is where the McArdle family can really use your help. This treatment costs $5,000 and requires doses every 6wks. You can therefore imagine the medical costs incured.
The McArdle's would NEVER ask for our help, and didn't. We extended our hand to them at this time of need and as part of our community, would love to see everyone come together and donate whatever they might be able to, in order to help Tommy and Courtney overcome these medical expenses and nurse Courtney back to good health, so she never has to miss another day of her children's lives!
