Support the Mazards with Medical Costs & Recovery

Many friends and loved ones may already know that Samuel and Katie Mazard have been facing a challenging season marked by serious and unexpected health issues.
Last October, Samuel suffered a sudden and unexplained back injury, which was ultimately diagnosed as a herniated disc. Since then, he has experienced ongoing sciatic pain and persistent inflammation in several joints. Doctors have been exploring the possibility of rheumatoid arthritis (RA), but tests have remained inconclusive.
Meanwhile, Katie has been battling chronic and debilitating health issues of her own. After months of severe symptoms last year, she was diagnosed with PCOS. Treatment options provided little relief while her symptoms continued to get worse. Earlier this year, she began seeking specialized care at Northwestern Medicine in Chicago, hoping for clearer answers.
A recent MRI revealed that she has deep infiltrating endometriosis (DIE) - a more aggressive and severe form of endometriosis. In addition to this, she was also diagnosed with adenomyosis, a condition where endometrial tissue grows into the muscular walls of the uterus. There is no cure for either condition.
Katie is now preparing for excision surgery at Northwestern to remove the endometriosis, with hopes that this will reduce pain levels and restore some of her quality of life. Unfortunately, there are very few options for treating adenomyosis, and none that hold promising outcomes.
Understandably, the past several months have taken a toll—physically, emotionally, and financially. Both Samuel and Katie have been unable to work due to their health, and the strain of medical bills and everyday expenses has been immense. Although Samuel is beginning to ease back into work, it will take some time before he is fully recovered. Katie’s surgery will be scheduled sometime in the next 2-3 months, and will require significant recovery time post-op before she is hopefully able to begin working again.
Their family and friends have organized this campaign to provide them with prayer and support as they continue to navigate these challenges.
Samuel and Katie are incredibly grateful for the love and generosity of their community, and while there is absolutely no obligation, any support during this time would mean the world.
Thank you for reading, praying, sharing, and supporting the Mazards as they work to heal and regain stability in the months ahead.
