This morning, lightning struck Kolby and Michelle’s home in Oklahoma directly through the chimney, causing an explosion inside the house and sending debris and shrapnel throughout their home.

The impact caused significant damage, blew lights from the ceiling, scattered debris everywhere, and left the home currently unsafe to stay in. Michelle was also taken to the ER after suffering injuries to her leg from flying debris.

The lightning strike also caused major electrical damage throughout the home. Their meter, outlets, switches, and electronics were impacted, leaving the house without power. TVs, phones, gaming systems, security cameras, and potentially even their HVAC system were damaged from the surge.

At this time, the family has been displaced and is facing temporary housing costs, medical expenses, cleanup, repairs, damaged belongings, and other immediate needs while they navigate insurance and recovery.
