Hello, from 757 Mom's for Migrant Families. We are a local mutual aid group here to help refugees and migrant families have a safe and healthy start here in Hampton Roads. Unfortunately, the recent ICE raids and kidnappings have made it very difficult for these families to live safe and productive lives here in Virginia.

We are doing this fundraiser to help a family we affectionately call the Matthews Family. They are a South American family that fled here legally after the 2018 changes in their government made it unsafe for them to stay. Their father was a medical student who was shot and targeted by their government and came here legally through an asylum program to provide safety for their children. He hopes to one day finish medical school here in America and give his two children a safe and happy life. The recent ICE raids have taken that promise from this young family. He has worked in construction to support his family for two years. He has not missed an immigration appointment or court date. Now, because of a recent ICE raid, he is no longer able to support his family. The mother is fearful that she will be left homeless with their two children at the beginning of winter if they are unable to pay their rent and legal fees.

Hampton Roads Mom's for Migrant Families has come together to aid and support her, our fellow mom, so that she can continue to safely raise her children. This is mother-to-mother mutual aid, and I hope you will join us in helping this new American family find safety and peace in our community.
