My name is Amethyst- A long time friend of the Matthews family.

Phyllis Matthews peacefully passed away Sunday, January 19th 2025.

She lived a full life of love with challenges. Even though we are deeply saddened we have some peace in our hearts knowing she is resting with the Lord.

With any death comes grief and the never ending financial responsibilities as the world keeps turning. Phyllis has a devoted husband who she was with just shy of 51 years. Cary now has to learn how to navigate this new world without the love of his life. Phyllis leaves behind 5 children Zac, Isaiah, Rebekah, Ruth and Aaron.

I am asking your prayers, good thoughts and any financial contributions your able to make to help support the Matthews family in their time of need.

The proceeds from this will go to support the family in memorial services expenses as well as loss of income from taking off work and travel expenses some of the kids had to make to be together.

Phyllis was a true beacon of light- and anyone who knew her, knew the kindness she offered unconditionally to the world that helped so many.

The Matthews family is eternally grateful for your support during this time of transition for them.

Memorial Services will be help this Sunday, January 26th 2025. Visitation from 1-3pm and service beginning at 3pm at Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Road in Dubuque, Iowa.
