Support The Marketplace at Curiosity's Recovery

It is difficult to call anything unimaginable anymore.

Hurricane Helena destroyed our newly remodeled Boone location, most of its contents, and sadly, we will close the Boone location permanently.

We lost $347,000 in inventory, supplies, tools, computers, office equipment, fixtures, etc. Just like many, there’s no flood insurance, and it’s a total loss.

Vendors lost inventory, revenue, and product.

Employees are forced to find jobs elsewhere.

While working through the layers and destruction of the Boone location of The Marketplace at Curiosity, I’m finding that it’s going to be difficult to let go of the flagship of the Marketplace at Curiosity. I’ll miss PUMPKIN MANIA, Flannel Frenzy, and the Holiday Extravaganza. I just wasn’t ready to quite let go.

I drove by the Boone store at 2 AM this morning and was able to drive slow, reflect, and gain some understanding of what Boone will look like without our store after 11 years of business. There’s mourning that must take place.

I was the first to enter the building 11 years ago with a vision and hope that God would do something great for His glory.

I will be the last to lock the doors and leave the building in a few days and close this chapter. I look back and give God the glory!

We’ve helped many and MANY have helped us, and we’ve built close and lasting relationships. That in itself is priceless to me.

Thank you everyone for your patronage and support.
