Hi from The Market at Hamilton!
As you know, we're opening up in the Hamilton neighborhood in NE Baltimore City. This location is very important to us, as we also own Silver Queen Cafe, just across the street. But it's not just because of that. We also live in the neighborhood, we have friends in the neighborhood, and truly believe in the promise of the neighborhood.
Straight talk, our little area has seen the loss of several local businesses, some due to situations beyond their control. And when this space became available, we saw an opportunity to become stewards of this neighborhood, by putting in a business that would lift us all up and not be a hinderance, or an eyesore, or otherwise cause any further decline of this area. We absolutely love it here, we live and work here, and many of our staff live in the neighborhood, too.
So we decided to take the risk, and plunge on ahead. But creating an uplifted area takes committment, and well, a lot of money. So this is where you can come in.
We are very humbly asking for your assistance in getting us off the ground. We've already make significant payments, but honestly, we have more ahead of us, equipment to buy, things to set up, etc. We are asking for donations, even small amounts add up. We're asking you to invest in our community, too. Whatever you can contribute. And if you don't feel comfortable doing so, we understand. Other ways you can help support us is by coming out to Silver Queen and getting bruch, or dinner, or just drinks. Any income is helpful.
We're trying to get up and running as quickly as possible, with a tentative opening date in mid-June (may the permit process be kind).
We thank you for supporting us through the years, and we hope to see you in the new space soon. And thank you so, so very much for donating. It really does mean a lot to us.
