On November 3rd, 2025, my beloved sister Maria "Mia" Claudia Jamison passed away after a short illness. Mia loved birds, and was an avid bird watcher and photographer. She taught middle school science in Harlingen, Texas, where she enjoyed birding with her friends in the Rio Grande Valley Birding group on Facebook. In 2026, she planned to enroll in the Master's program at the Lab of Avian Ecology at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. In her memory, our family is creating a scholarship so that someone else can study ornithology at UT RGV in Mia's place. Thank you for helping us to continue Mia's passion.
