Official Feature Film Fundraiser
Sherlock Vs Hyde is an upcoming independent feature-length film co-directed by Zack Sopko and Luke Singleton, filming from May through early June 2026. Following the success of our first feature-length film, Sweeney vs Sherlock, we are proud to once again partner with the Acrosstown Repertory Theatre as well as talented Gainesville artists and students from multiple colleges across Florida.
SYNOPSIS
One year after defeating Sweeney Todd, Detective Sherlock Holmes is pulled into a deadly conflict with the elusive Edward Hyde, a man convinced humanity can only evolve through destruction. As Hyde begins targeting a secret council of corrupt elites, Sherlock is forced into a brutal battle of intellect, morality, and survival that threatens the future of humanity.
Blending gothic horror, philosophical conflict, and classic literary characters, this project continues an expanding cinematic universe inspired by some of fiction’s most iconic figures.
ABOUT US/THE PROJECT
We met in an acting class at Santa Fe college and shared many different steps in our journey to becoming filmmakers together. We officially joined forces when we started filming for Sweeney Vs Sherlock. The project quickly evolved into a growing collaboration between actors, filmmakers, musicians, and creatives from many different backgrounds. SvS was a testament to our ability to communicate and constantly adapt. Through it all, we stayed focus on our goal of constant growth and inspiring self-discovery which motivated us to try and make the sequel bigger and better.
With Sherlock Vs Hyde, we are working to improve on every front including production quality, storytelling, cinematography, sound design, and overall scale while still remaining grounded in practical independent filmmaking and creative collaboration.
This project is being created by artists, students, and community members who are contributing their time and talents because they believe in creating meaningful independent art together.
OUR FUNDRAISING GOAL
Total Goal — $2,027
Every dollar raised goes directly toward helping us complete production safely and professionally. Your support helps provide production design materials, filming locations, meals for cast and crew, post-production resources, and emergency production costs that we know inevitably arise during independent filmmaking.
ESTIMATED PRODUCTION COSTS
- Costumes & Props — $250 ($250)
- Location Rentals — $450 ($200)
- Food for Cast & Crew — $1,000 ($650)
- Post-Production Costs — $1,400 ($400)
- Cast & Crew Reimbursement & Transportation — $1,600 ($200)
- Safety & Emergency Fund — $2027 ($427)
While our full production expenses exceed the fundraiser goal, every contribution meaningfully reduces the financial burden on the artists and students helping bring this project to life.
WHY SUPPORT INDEPENDENT FILM?
Howard Thurman once said, “Don’t ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive and go do it. Because what the world needs is more people who have come alive.”
This film exists because of the people willing to dedicate their time, talent, and energy to bringing it to life. Every contribution directly supports local actors, musicians, editors, designers, and student filmmakers working together to create something meaningful.
We hope these films encourage others to take creative risks, collaborate with the friends around them, and pursue artistic ideas that might otherwise never exist. Success for a project like this is shared by everyone involved.
FINAL NOTE
We remain grateful to everyone who helped bring Sweeney Vs Sherlock to life. We hope you will join us as we continue building the world of Sherlock Vs Hyde and the future of The Famous Detective. Thank you for supporting independent art and the people willing to create it.
