Aloha friends and supporters,
The Native Hawaiian Religious Group at San Quentin is hosting a two-day cultural and healing event this November: A Healing Circle on Friday, November 14, and the annual Makahiki Ceremony on Saturday, November 15. These gatherings aim to foster connection, celebrate heritage, and support personal and communal healing.
The first day will offer space for reflection, storytelling, and spiritual practices that promote peace and reconnection. The second day will be a joyful celebration of heritage filled with songs, dances, prayers, laughter, and a sacred meal shared by all. It’s a time to remember who we are, where we come from, and the strength we carry forward together.
To bring these ceremonies to life, we’re inviting your support. Your donation will help us gather essential supplies, nourishing food, and meaningful cultural materials. Any remaining funds will go directly to the group, sustaining their ongoing healing work. Every contribution makes a difference, helping us build a space where tradition is honored and healing can truly flourish.
This isn’t just a fundraiser. It’s a chance to be part of something meaningful. To help build a bridge between generations. To stand with a community that believes in the power of connection, redemption, and healing.
Mahalo for walking this path with us.
The men of the N.H.R.G at San Quentin Rehabilitation Center
