Hi everyone,
This is one of the hardest things we’ve ever had to do — asking for help like this. But we’ve hit a point where we don’t know what else to do.
We came home recently to find water leaking into our son’s bedroom. It wasn’t just a small leak — it was storm damage that left holes in the roof, missing shingles, and damage to the gutters and fascia boards. We now need an entirely new roof, and fast, before it all gives in completely.
Insurance is covering part of the cost, but we’re still responsible for a large deductible and repairs we can’t afford on our own. And the longer we wait, the worse the damage becomes.
What makes this even harder is that just two weeks ago, we had to replace our entire HVAC system, which completely drained what little we had saved. That hit us financially in a way we’re still trying to recover from — and now this unexpected roof disaster has left us overwhelmed and honestly, scared.
We’re doing everything we can. My husband is working two jobs, and I’m working as much as I’m able. Even our kids have started pitching in to help with bills — something no child should ever have to worry about. We’ve always done our best to help others when we could, and now, as humbling and honestly embarrassing as it is… we need help. A lot of it.
This isn’t just about a roof. This is about protecting our children, our memories, and the place we call home. We’re scared. We’re exhausted. But we’re still holding on to hope — hope that there are kind hearts out there willing to stand with us during this storm, literally and figuratively.
If you can donate, we would be so deeply grateful. And if you can’t, please consider sharing this with someone who might be able to. Every bit of support matters more than we can say.
Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts,
— Meaghan Maddox & Family
