Hello everyone, I hope this message finds you well. I'm writing this on behalf of my mom and everyone else who loves my dad. On October 31 of this year, my dad, Chad Lutu Sr., was rushed to the ER as he was having difficulties breathing. After some time in the ER, the doctors found a mass within his throat that prevented him from breathing normally. As a result, he was put under sedation and on a ventilator for some days. Days later, he underwent surgery (tracheostomy) in order to allow him to breathe a lot better. As of now, my father is still sedated and in the ICU, while they are currently working on transferring him to another facility that's better equipped to deal with the mass in his throat.

Now that you have a general idea of what has been happening over the past few weeks, me and my family are reaching out for your support. As most people would agree, my dad is someone who wouldn't think twice about helping someone in need. During this time, I've had some time to reflect on the type of person my dad is and what he means to me and my family. Thanks to him, I've learned what it means to be someone who stands strong in what they believe in while, at the same time, also having a big capacity to love. I have also seen the profound effects that he has had on the lives of other people despite going through his own inner battles. My mom has informed me that while in the hospital, my dad was visited by many people who love and care for him dearly. Hearing that brings a smile to my face knowing that many people have been touched by his kind heart.

With my mom's recent cancer diagnosis in July, my dad's current health battle, and the fact I'm far away from both of them, I can confidently say that this year has been a rocky one. The fact that I am not able to see my dad's face in person or be there for him and my mom during this rough time is something that has been eating away at me. However, I know if my dad were here right next to me, he would tell me to be strong and have faith that everything will work out. Furthermore, seeing my mom, who is fighting her own battle with cancer, still show up for my dad, has given me the much-needed reassurance and strength that I need.

With that being said, the future of my dad's health battle is still uncertain and highly dependent on whether or not his insurance will be accepted. However, with your much-appreciated support, me and my family will be able to navigate through this difficult time and alleviate any medical costs that may arise.
