Hello everyone,
My grandpa, Lorenzo Lomas Perez, lost his battle against COVID-19 on July 26,2020. He leaves behind his wife, sons, daughters, and grandchildren.

My grandpa was one of the boldest person I knew, he always cared for the family and made sure we had everything we needed. Despite having a history of medical conditions, he had one of the mightiest spirits, always overcoming any condition.
When my grandpa came out positive for COVID-19 back in early July, he wasn't admitted into the hospital immediately. Due to the spike in COVID-19 cases in Arizona, hospitals were at capacity and were only admitting patients with severe COVID-19 symptoms. At the time my grandpa wasn't facing severe symptoms, but he had other specific medical needs like dialysis. The places where he usually gets his medical needs denied him because he had the virus and they weren't equipped for it. He went a week without dialysis and the his condition started to worsen.
After paramedics came to our house to check on him, they gave the hospital the green light to admit him. He spent a month in the hospital fighting the virus, but eventually succumbed to all his complications. The hospital made an exception for my mom (Lorenzo's daughter) to see him. This is a luxury not many families are getting during this pandemic. My grandpa was able to hear from mom and the rest of the family through the phone.

Help us raise money to cover his funeral and medical costs for my grandpa. Our family was adversely affected by COVID-19 and we are very dire financial situation. Since April, my mom has been furloughed with no hope of working soon due to the COVID-19 cases in Arizona. My mom has been my grandpas primary caregiver, always making sure he gets the right care and treatment. These past weeks has been really tough on my mom and she will need the assistance so she can give her dad the proper send off. My dad is currently battling COVID-19 as well, and we are hoping he doesn't need to be sent to the hospital.
Thank you to everyone who has prayed for him and have checked in with the family, I'm sure he felt your prayers and spirits.
Rest in Peace, Grandpa. I hope you are reunited with your son, Antonio Lomas. We will take care of grandma and the rest of the family.
