Hello dear friends, family, and Sangha family!

I have the privilege of Friendraising for the Loving Work Foundation and their 2026 humanitarian projects in rural central Vietnam.

Projects the LWF supports:

-ongoing de-mining and education in schools so that children learn to recognize and not touch unexploded ordnance (UXO left by US cluster bombs, still a problem).

-nonprofit schools for children with disabilities

-bilingual preschools in remote mountain areas where children from ethnic minorities learn to speak Vietnamese and prepare for elementary school

-home improvement projects (a driveway that does not flood, an indoor bathroom for the first time!) for seniors with limbs lost to land mines or with children affected by Agent Orange

The LWF was started by Dharma Teacher Trish Thompson with the support of Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh to promote peace and healing by connecting veterans of the Vietnam/American war. Over time, the mission has expanded to support humanitarian programs that improve the lives of disadvantaged Vietnamese children and families, and by organizing and leading mindfulness retreats within the country, providing friends around the world the opportunity to practice together in the spirit of global community-building and engaged service.
