Dear family, friends, and community organizations. We are deeply saddened by the passing of Salim Abdul El Shabazz on July 6, 2025. We thought we had more time with him.

Our dad was everything to us from the time we were very young. He spoke with such passion about life, business and friends and family. He inspired us to go into business for ourselves, always telling jokes, was a great cook, worked tirelessly to support his 6 children, and great storyteller. Daddy had many skills: an electrician, a businessman, a songwriter, carnival troop leader, natural juices and smoothie founder in the Caribbean, and agriculture was very important to him. That is just a few of his many accolades.

My biggest takeaway from my dad is how he made you feel when you spent time with him. Thank you for the memories, Daddy.

As we aim to move forward in this painful moment for our family right now, we are trying to arrange for the funeral.
