We, the Lopez family, are heartbroken to share the passing of our beloved Edgar Mario Chavez Lopez — a cherished son, brother, cousin, and nephew. Edgar was only 23 years old, full of life and dreams ahead of him. He graduated in 2020, attended Grand Prairie High School, and before moving there, proudly played soccer at Sam Houston High School.

Edgar also carried heavy struggles with his mental health, and though he fought hard, those struggles became too great. We remember him for his smile, his love for soccer, and the light he brought into our family.

As we face this unimaginable loss, we humbly ask for your support to help us cover the funeral expenses to give Edgar the farewell he deserves. Any contribution, no matter the amount, will be deeply appreciated.

In his memory, we also ask that you please check in on your loved ones. Mental health struggles are real, and your care could mean more than you realize.

Nosotros, la familia López, estamos con el corazón destrozado al compartir la partida de nuestro querido Edgar Mario Chávez López — un hijo, hermano, primo y sobrino muy amado. Edgar tenía solo 23 años, lleno de vida y con muchos sueños por delante. Se graduó en 2020, asistió a Grand Prairie High School y, antes de mudarse allí, jugó con orgullo al fútbol en Sam Houston High School.

Edgar también cargaba con duras luchas en su salud mental y, aunque peleó con todas sus fuerzas, esas luchas se hicieron demasiado grandes. Lo recordamos por su sonrisa, su amor por el fútbol y la luz que trajo a nuestra familia.
