We are educators and advocates who are dedicated to creating inclusive spaces and helping individuals in need. Over the years, we have heard a number of stories about LGBTQ+ youth and young adults who have suffered housing and food insecurity after coming out, and who have struggled to find counseling and appropriate medical care. We decided to establish a fund to try and help during such crises, instead of hearing about these situations after the fact.

We look forward to the day when an LGBTQ+ Emergency Fund is no longer necessary and all young people have the resources, support, and safety they need.

The Emergency Fund will provide short-term emergency help for LGBTQ+ youth and young adults in North Mississippi who find themselves in urgent need of housing, food, and medical resources. It will also help to connect LGBTQ+ youth and young adults with existing resources in the community.
