Hello, I am Kristi Sola. I am Denis’ “adopted” 3rd daughter, as I’ve been friends with the girls since the age of 13. My friendship with this family has spanned decades and we have been there for each other through every one of life’s highs and lows. This is the hardest one that the Lessor family (Brenda, Ryan, Rachel and Amber) has had to navigate, so I am humbly asking for generosity and support on behalf of their family.

Denis passed away, surrounded by his family, in the comfort of their home on September 26, 2023. He fought valiantly against a short, hard battle with pancreatic cancer, which had only been diagnosed 2 months before his untimely death. He faced all of the challenges and procedures that come with this type of diagnosis with incredible grace and strength. You would never guess by the smile on his face how hard he was fighting.

Nothing can replace the loss of Denis. Although the family are surrounded by love and support, the road ahead will be a challenging one. Many have asked how they can help Brenda, Ryan, Rachel and Amber during this difficult time. If you are able to, please consider making a donation to help ease the financial burden of this loss. All proceeds from this fundraiser will go directly to Brenda to assist in covering many of the unforeseen medical expenses and to help support her as she navigates through her grief and the unexpected loss of her partner of 50 years.

To know Denis, was to love him. There was never a time that this beloved husband, father, son, Papa and friend was not showing love and making those around him laugh with his jokes. His sense of humor and quick wit were unmatched. He will be so deeply missed by every single person who knew him, and we know that the memory of his kind, wonderful soul will live on forever.
