Dear friends and community,

The Lemus Monroy family is facing every parent's worst nightmare. They are dealing with the sudden, heartbreaking loss of their beloved son, brother, and grandson, Marcos Daniel Lemus Monroy - known to most of us simply as Daniel. My name is Elyse, and as a close friend of the family for over 10 years, I wanted to start this page to wrap them in support and give them some financial breathing room while they grieve.

Daniel was a genuinely happy kid whose energy lifted everyone around him. He had the most expressive, smiling eyes and was incredibly loving with his family, loyal to his friends, and protective of every animal he met. Tragically, on June 30, 2026, Daniel’s life was cut short at just 11 years old. He was doing what he loved - playing and helping his father at work - when a devastating accident involving a farm vehicle took his life. It is deeply painful to realize how quickly everything can change, and my heart breaks for his mother, father, and two sisters as they walk this agonizing road.

Because Daniel’s passing was so completely unexpected, his permanent burial site was not ready in time for his funeral. The family had to use a temporary, borrowed site for his burial, and they are now enduring the painful wait until his final resting place is completed so they can move him. On top of this unimaginable grief, the family was told just a few weeks after his death that they have to move out of their home. This unexpected relocation has added an enormous financial burden to an already impossible situation.

I started this fundraiser because this is simply too much for one family to carry alone. I want to give our community a tangible way to help ease some of that weight. Every dollar raised will go directly to the family to help cover:
