Our world changed in ways we never imagined the day we learned about our son’s medical needs. What should have been a time filled with hope, milestones, and simple joys quickly became a constant cycle of doctor visits, treatments, and difficult conversations we were never prepared to have.
While we believed insurance would help protect us during moments like this, we discovered that many of his essential medical needs simply aren’t covered. Each appointment, test, therapy session, and piece of medical equipment comes with a bill we never expected—and those bills have quickly turned into a mountain that feels impossible to climb.
We are doing everything we can to give our son the care, comfort, and support he deserves, but the financial weight is becoming overwhelming. Between medical expenses, travel to specialists, and the ongoing costs of treatments, we are struggling to keep our heads above water.
We’re reaching out not because it’s easy, but because we truly need help. Any donation, share, or kind word means more than we can express. Your support helps lift some of this burden off our shoulders and allows us to focus on what matters most—being there for our son and giving him the best chance at a healthy, happy life.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for standing with us during this incredibly difficult journey. ❤️ -The Ledfords
UPDATE: So we got some good news that Elliott’s Torticollis (neck muscle) is getting better and that he doesn’t need a helmet as of right now. But we still have the hip dysplasia brace for at least another month, maybe longer due to some sizing issues; we had to get a bigger one which meant having to go in and get re-fitted and the appointment took maybe 20 minutes and then we get charged out the butt and insurance still doesn’t cover this specialty service (or any of his appointments it’s seems.) So some good news but also still having the hip brace and having to navigate all the medical bills and debt that keeps piling on. We really appreciate from the bottom of our hearts anyone who helped and donated or shared our post. We are very grateful. The Ledfords ❤️
