Support the Laytons: Help Jodi Beat Lymphoma

A few weeks ago, I was diagnosed with B-cell lymphoma. The good news is that my doctors are very hopeful — they believe this cancer is highly treatable, and I’m ready to do whatever it takes to beat it. But the road ahead won’t be easy. It means months of chemotherapy, a lot of tough days, and an even tougher balancing act trying to be a mom, a wife, and a patient all at once.

If you know me, you know how much my family means to me. My kids are my whole world. I want nothing more than to stay steady for them while I go through this fight.

But cancer doesn’t just take a toll on your body — it turns your whole life upside down. I’ll need to take extended unpaid leave from work to focus on treatment and recovery. Meanwhile, everyday life — groceries, summer camp for Dashiell to keep his life as normal as possible, medical bills, transportation, Hopkins parking expenses— keeps moving, whether we’re ready or not.

That’s why I’m asking for help, even though it’s one of the hardest things for me to do.

Giving me the space to focus on healing — without carrying the stress of how we’re going to manage it all

Over the years, Tim and I have loved being a part of our community — volunteering in the schools, serving on the boards of South Carroll Swim Club, Liberty Drama, and Liberty Vocal. It’s hard for me to be the one needing help now — but I’m learning that sometimes being strong means letting others carry you for a little while.
