Support The Laureate Project
Donation protected
This is a fundraiser to support the development of The Laureate Project, an effort to collect and share interviews with America's state-level poets laureate.
Nearly every state has one of these publicly-appointed writers. At a time of such division and anxiety, I've been curious what we could learn in trying to see this rambunctious, ambitious, complex country through their eyes. After a year of outreach, interviewing and editing, I've covered 25 of the 50 states and the listenership of this project has steadily grown throughout! (For anyone new to this project, you can read a bit more about it in a short essay I recently wrote here.)
Now, as I prepare to dive into the second half of this work, I'm seeking funds from anyone willing to offer support. This project is not about making money--but it would also be nice not to lose too much along the way. I'm a one-man operation, so the costs are fairly minimal, but I'm still paying for a couple of largely unavoidable, recurring costs like music licensing and web hosting. This fundraiser is to cover those costs for the past year and the year to come.
Any support would be appreciated. Frankly, this is not an existential plea—these episodes will get made no matter what. But, if you've listened to any of these pieces and found some you've liked or that has stuck with you, I encourage you to donate whatever you like.
