Support the Launch of Furse: The Flute Purse

Donation protected
Hi everyone! As many of you know, I am pursuing careers in both music and medicine. I've noticed that many other musicians, artists, and creatives pursue other professional careers alongside their art. This company was inspired by my involvement in the D.C. Flute Ensemble, where members are fantastic flute players while pursuing separate career paths from the flute. You can read some of their bios here: https://www.dcflutes.org. Going from working as a medical assistant during the day to night rehearsal with D.C. Flutes at night, I noticed a gap in the market. This is what led to creating FURSE.

I was looking for a professional, understated, and stylish flute case that I could bring to work with me earlier this year. I did not find anything I liked, so I decided to make my own. My design is the only flute case cover on the market that actually looks like a purse and is multipurpose. The design includes a fully functional purse on top, and has a side panel zipper for accessing your flute case in the bottom compartment. It's called "Furse," or the flute purse.

Since February, I have been carefully forming Furse's brand identity, future goals, and my market plan. I worked with a graphic designer to make a a tech pack for the sample, made a website (and Instagram (@fursecollective), secured a manufacturer, printed and distributed business cards, conferred with a patent lawyer, registered my business as an LLC, made a professional email with its own domain, and have chosen fabric and leather styles for the bag.

I gathered market research from flute friends and new people I met at the National Flute Association convention this year in Atlanta, Georgia. I am certain there is a market out there. My target audience includes professionals (either professional musicians or other professions) who want an elevated, understated, and multi-purpose flute bag that will take them from their day job to night rehearsal, seamlessly.

I am hoping to expand my business to reach a broader customer range (musicians who play other instruments, other artists/dancers/creatives who work multiple jobs) and to expand into other products aimed at productivity efficiency that may also be multipurpose.

Where will your donation go?
Now, I need your help. The sample costs $2,950 and initial production run is $7,500. I have a list of people already interested, but I plan on physically selling these bags in person at other flute conventions in exhibit halls. Any contribution you can make, even as little as $10, will help support the launching this brand. Thank you so much for considering donating!

Love you all!
