Dating is complicated enough. Finding out on date three that someone’s politics are fundamentally incompatible with yours shouldn’t be part of the process.
In modern romance, a shared worldview isn’t just a preference to be listed among your hobbies, drinking habits, and height. It’s a prerequisite. We’re building LeftLynk to offer common-ground clarity from the very first match, so people can spend less time vetting and more time connecting.
A different way to meet
LeftLynk began when three strangers met online and realized they all wanted the same thing: a better way to connect with people who genuinely shared their values.
- Not another endless swipe cycle.
- Not another bio that keeps politics conveniently vague.
- Not another first date that turns into a debate.
A place where leftists can meet potential partners, make friends, and build community with people who believe, like they do, that a better world is possible. That place didn’t exist yet. So we're building it together.
What makes LeftLynk different?
LeftLynk is a thoughtfully built, politically driven dating app designed to make connection feel more human. We’re building an experience that will:
- Help people connect around shared political values from the start
- Replace endless swiping with slower, more thoughtful interaction
- Create more ways to meet, talk, and play together
- Make room for romantic, platonic, and community connection
- Protect users’ personal information rather than treating it as a product
Our goal isn’t to tell you who you’ll have chemistry with. It’s to give that chemistry a better place to begin.
Why we’re asking for help
LeftLynk is an independent project being built by a small team that believes deeply in its potential. We have no investors to answer to (very much by design), and we’ve made meaningful progress. But bringing a secure, functional app to launch requires resources we don’t currently have on our own. Your donation will help us move from a limited, browser-only experience to a real app people can download, join, and use.
Where your donation will go
Funds raised through this campaign will help cover:
Development tools and infrastructure: The production services required to build, operate, and maintain a functional app
- Additional development support: Bringing in a second developer to complete assigned features, test the experience, and resolve issues before launch
- Privacy and security: Creating a safer platform where users can connect with confidence
- Branding and marketing: Reaching the people LeftLynk was made for and building a strong early community
- Team support: Compensating team members who have contributed their time and expertise to the project without pay
