The Larry Harper Memorial Scholarship

Mr. Larry Harper gave over 30 years of passionate dedication to the community, school, and students of Coulterville, Illinois as a math teacher, coach, mentor, and friend. His sudden passing in August had a profound impact, causing great sadness but eliciting an incredible outpouring of love and support in Larry’s memory. Now, there is a way to continue honoring that memory in a manner that gives back to the community he loved so much.

Treasured friends and colleagues of Mr. Harper, with the support and thanks of his family, have created the Larry Harper Memorial Scholarship Fund benefiting Coulterville Unit School District 1. When fully funded, the fund will create a $1000 scholarship for a graduating Coulterville Senior each year for the next five years (May 2026 - May 2030), helping to continue Larry’s legacy and impact through the completion of the academic careers for the most recent generation of students he taught.

We seek your contributions in reaching the fund’s $5000 goal and making these scholarships a reality. Thanks to the generosity of Larry’s family, supported by some of his good friends, $1300 in seed money has already been contributed. Any funds raised beyond the $5000 scholarship goal will be donated directly to the school to help support the teachers, students, and programs that Larry cherished.

Donations may be made here on GoFundMe or by directly contacting First State Bank of Campbell Hill - Coulterville Banking Center.

With your support, the scholarship will be ready for the 2026 application deadline on one of Mr. Harper’s favorite days of the year… Pi Day (3/14).

Thank you for your support!
