Hi, my name is Dayle Kusie. I started this fundraiser for my good friend Conlan and his wife Stephanie. The past month has been a nightmare for their family.

On June 21st Stephanie suffered a major seizure. She was taken to St. Boniface hospital and discharged on June 24th.

At home, Stephanie started having lots of focal seizures during that week, she was readmitted to St. Boniface hospital on June 27th.

The doctors made the decision to induce coma to control the seizures on June 30th. Stephanie was diagnosed with auto immune encephalitis.

Stephanie’s sedation was lifted on July 8th and she spent that week slowly waking up from sedation, suffering hallucinations.

Stephanie has spent the past three week going through physio just to regain strength to walk and move around. She has been dealing with lots of memory loss.

Stephanie is such a strong person, she has been pushing through and amazing all the doctors with her recovery so far! She was told she had a 30% chance of survival when she was first admitted.

Stephanie still has a long road ahead of her for recovery. She will be unable to drive or work for an undetermined amount of time.

Stephanie was a work from home/stay at home mom of four children. With Conlan having to return to work recently, childcare has been needed for the kids.

Your funds would be helping with Stephanie’s recovery as well as helping with all the needs for their four children. If we can help with any of the financial stress, Conlan and Stephanie can focus on what matters, Steph’s recovery and their four children!
