On the morning of January 1, 2026, while many were celebrating a new year, the Laci family faced a tragedy that changed their lives forever. A fast-moving fire tore through their home, leaving them with nothing but the clothes on their backs. Alban Laci, his wife, and their three young boys lost everything they had worked so hard for over the years. Their home, built with love and years of hard work, was reduced to ashes in a matter of hours.
I have known Alban for over eight years. He is a hardworking, humble, and loving family man who, along with his wife, invested their entire life savings into their home. The family is now left with the daunting task of starting over, and with three young children—including their youngest, who is just five years old—the challenges are even greater as school is set to resume next week. The children have lost their toys, clothes, and the only sense of security they knew.
We are deeply grateful to the Paramus Fire Department and local EMS personnel, whose heroic efforts ensured the family made it out safely. While we are relieved that everyone is unharmed, the Laci family has very little family nearby to support them during this crisis. They need our community now more than ever. Funds raised will help them secure temporary housing, provide basic necessities, purchase school supplies, and begin the long process of rebuilding their lives.
No donation is too small. If you are unable to give, please consider sharing this page with your network. Every bit of support helps show the Laci family that they are not alone. Thank you for your kindness, prayers, and generosity during this devastating time.
