Support the Krusell Family Post Spinal-Surgery

We are reaching out to ask for your support for the Krusell family during a challenging time. They are a family of four: Ben, Rachel, and their 2 young children, Leo (4) and Sloane (1). Ben and Rachel both work full-time to support their family, and their children are in daycare full time.

This fall Ben had been experiencing back pain. After doing an MRI the doctors found a mass on his spine. Within 72 hours he had a Laminectomy, a major spinal surgery to remove the mass. A biopsy is being completed to determine whether or not it is benign. Due to the placement of the mass, and how integrated it was with nerves, Ben has a very long recovery ahead. He currently is unable to walk. He will be hospitalized and after will be transferred to inpatient neural therapy to regain mobility in his lower body. It’s unknown right now how mobile Ben will be, as it takes 1 year to gather a baseline of mobility. He will be unable to work for the foreseeable future.

Because Ben is unable to work, the family is in need of financial support. A single income will be insufficient to cover the ongoing medical bills, mortgage payment, daycare, and basic living expenses for the family. They also will need to make their house more accessible to Ben throughout his recovery.

We are hoping to raise $15,000 to help alleviate some of this financial burden. Every little bit helps and will go directly to the family to support them during this tough time.
