Support the Krakauer Institute's Second Season
Donation protected
In the year since its inception, The Krakauer Institute For Intensive Summer Study has done everything the founders set out to do and more. First, we wanted to revitalize the life-changing stage (pronounced stahj) tradition that we all experienced as students of Barbara Liebermann Krakauer by creating a retreat inspired by the ones we attended long ago. Second, we wanted to create an environment that was eminently supportive and nurturing of its participants, with daily lessons, ensemble, movement classes, chamber orchestra, and workshops that explored a variety of subjects designed to enhance each musician's relationship to their instrument. Third, we wanted to return to the very location where Barbara's stages had been held: Vaison-la-Romaine. We found not only a serene retreat here, but a second home. As we navigated our first season - 8 days of focused growth - our community quickly grew into a family. And since our return, we've kept that community going through monthly studio classes, concert performances, reunions, and more. And this isn't just what we think: you can read all about it from the participants themselves here .
We are doing something special here, and we want you to be a part of it! Will you help us to grow K.I.I.S.S. so that we can expand to our second season?
You can read all about our first season here, and even see the many beautiful photos we took of all the activities, classes, concerts, and excursions. If you donated to us in the past, please consider a gift this year in order to us expand. Thank you!
