On 17 January, my mother-in-law was admitted into the hospital for Urosepsis. Diane had been struggling with renal failure for a while and in and out of dialysis when she contracted another infection that was not treated within a timely fashion due to not being able to take care of herself very well. Landed her in the hospital.

Her daughter Autumn, who is special needs with Marden Walker syndrome was typically the one being taken care of however she had taken over the job of taking care of mom and all of their dogs. Unfortunately, during this timeframe, Miss Autumn had not had a bath or her bum wiped as she cannot do it for herself in over a month. Neither Mom or Autumn told us what was going on and mom did not want Autumn to tell us because she was too stubborn and prideful to ask for help

Forrest/my husband a.k.a. son and brother flew up to Alaska a week after the admission. The kids and I followed a few days later.. Only to find out the house was uninhabitable due to the health decline and all of the animals. While at the hospital, Autumn came up and was noticed that she had blue lips and had to go to the emergency room where we found out she was in congestive heart failure, and ended up in the hospital about four doors down from mom.

Well, myself and my husband and our kids have been bouncing back-and-forth to the hospital rooms and trying to manage our home life with no funds coming in. It has been exhausting and all of our funds have now depleted while being here and trying to care for our children and pay for all of our bills down back home in the lower 48.

Autumn has since been able to be discharged as of 6 February, but unfortunately due to extenuating circumstances mom a.k.a. Diane passed away at 12:24 AM on the February 7.

My husband and I will now be the guardians of my sister-in-law however, we are unable to do anything with mom’s funeral at the moment or anything else with her belongings as she had no will and will now be going to probate. we need to find a way after we get all of Autumn‘s medical check ups who is also now on oxygen of which she has never been have to figure out how to get her down to our home as well as plane tickets for all of us and paying for everything that comes with the travel and getting back on track at home once we are able to leave here. We do not have a date yet, but we have to get the funeral and celebration of life put together including a cremation.
