My name is Cajun, and my family and I are from Pasadena, California. Our family home, a place filled with generations of love and memories, is now reduced to ruins due to the devastating Eaton Fire in Altadena.
For over 50 years, our home on Monterosa Drive was the heart of our family. My late grandparents, Walter Kirk Sr. and Sarah Lee Silas Kirk, purchased this home and raised my father and uncles within its walls. It was a cherished hub for family gatherings, a symbol of love and unity, and a cornerstone of our family’s history.
After my grandparents passed, my parents moved into the home, where they continued to create and cherish memories. Tragically, on Wednesday, January 8th, the Eaton Fire destroyed the house completely. Like many other Altadena residents, my parents had to evacuate quickly, taking only what little they could carry in their vehicles. I am profoundly grateful for their safety and continue to pray for all the families who lost loved ones in this disaster.
We are heartbroken by the loss of our family home and the memories it held. At this time, we are reaching out for support to help my parents as they begin to rebuild their lives. Any donations will go directly toward providing essential needs like food, clean water, and temporary housing to support my parents in the foreseeable future.
Your kindness, generosity, and support mean more to us than words can express. Thank you for helping us during this challenging time.
