On Friday, 26 June, Keti suddenly collapsed at home while with her husband, Mike, and their children. She was rushed to Sunshine Coast University Hospital, where doctors discovered she had a large brain aneurysm that had ruptured and she had suffered a significant bleed on the brain.

Due to the severity of her condition, Keti was airlifted to the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital to undergo emergency surgery to relieve the pressure on her brain, then she was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit. She has since undergone another surgery and is expected to remain in the ICU for at least three weeks, followed by an extended hospital stay. Her recovery will be long and challenging, requiring extensive rehabilitation, therapy, and ongoing medical care.

Keti is a devoted mother to four beautiful children—Gabriel (18), Aiax (14), Lucian (12), and Alora (5). Her husband, Mike, has had to take leave from his work as a Sprinkler Fitter for an unknown length of time to remain by Keti's side while caring for their children and supporting their family through this incredibly difficult period.

The Kirby family have been proud members of the Sunshine Coast community for almost 15 years after relocating from Victoria. Their children attend local schools and have been actively involved in community clubs, including Kicks Taekwondo, Caloundra Soccer Club, and many other local activities. They have always been a family that gives back, and now they need the support of the community that has been such an important part of their lives.

As they face the months ahead, the financial pressures of lost income, travel and accommodation in Brisbane, everyday living expenses, and Keti's ongoing recovery will be significant.
