Support the Kelley Family's Transplant Journey

Hello my name is Michelle Kelley and I am posting on behalf of my husband Randy (Ralph) Kelley Jr. Many of you know Randy as someone who enjoys talking to people and playing sports. We know him as a very loving, caring husband, father, grandfather, son and brother.

Randy is currently in end stage kidney failure, stage 5. He is in the nation transplant list for a kidney. However, the great news is that our family has been blessed and both our son (Trae) and myself have completed testing and are compatible to be direct living donors. So, as soon as the time comes Randy will be receiving on of my kidneys.

Randy has always been a hard worker and provider for his family. Unfortunately, in recent months he has suffered an injury to his foot and after two failed surgeries his employer has left him go from his position. We have found ourselves needing to purchase this insurance on our own because it is not offered from my employer. I have just started back to work at my season fulltime position and Randy is currently collecting unemployment, which makes cost an added concern. He has applied for other positions and is being met with push back due to his medical conditions. His hope is that with this transplant he can get back to himself and resume working

With the new insurance we are unsure of the upcoming medical expenses. We do know that even with insurance the co pays for the anti rejection medications are several thousand dollars a month. Although having the ability to directly donate an organ to my husband is a true blessing, it comes this great concern because this means there are two household members having no income during the recovery period.

Any donations will be used to help with required medications, co pays, hospital and all other medical expenses. It will also help to support the household for the months following the transplant so Randy can focus on recovery.
