Today, July 8th, is my brother Alex's 26th birthday. One and a half weeks ago, he learned that the abdominal pain he's been suffering from for months was more than the constipation doctors kept telling him it was, it is due to a large, obstructive mass in his colon. Colon cancer runs in our family; we start preventative care early; yet the news still came as a heavy blow. Alex is young, works hard, is happily married, runs a farm, and is the father of 3 beautiful children. He is the primary income for their household, but his pain is beyond what he can work through. Right now he needs rest. Turning 26 also means he ages out of being on our father's insurance at the end of the month, timing couldn't be poorer. His family needs the help of compassionate people. Between being off work, insurance premiums, and medical bills, in addition to normal living expenses, they are in for challenging days ahead. Any kindness that you can show my brother, sister-in-law, nephews, and newborn niece comes with my upmost sincere gratitude and thanks.
Currently, they are awaiting the PET scan results that well tell them how serious his condition is. Immunotherapy treatment to shrink the tumor, with the goal to then surgically remove it, is the plan of action at this time.

Thank You.
