I’m reaching out with a heartfelt plea on behalf of our dear sister, Yaye Awa N., a 54-year-old woman from Dakar, Senegal, who has been courageously battling chronic kidney failure for several years. She has been undergoing regular dialysis treatments, a physically and emotionally demanding process that has taken a toll on her health and finances.

Recently, her condition has worsened. In addition to her ongoing dialysis, she now urgently requires a total thyroidectomy (complete removal of the thyroid gland) due to a goitre. This critical surgery is scheduled to take place at the ORL department of the Military Hospital in Ouakam.

The total cost of the surgery is approximately 400,000 CFA francs (just under $1,000 USD). However, this amount does not include the continued cost of her dialysis sessions and her daily living expenses, which have become increasingly difficult to manage.
