My partner John and I (Jon) have been through the worst year of our lives.

It all started on August 30, 2023, when my beloved Shih Tzu, Jack, died in my arms.

In September, October, and December, John had three major elbow surgeries that caused him to be out of work. He spent 12 weeks on FMLA, only to be unceremoniously terminated the very day he returned.

After months of trying to find lawyers and assistance, we are this close to losing our home. We've lost our transportation, and medical bills (in addition to our utilities) are piling up, drowning us slowly.

I'm currently disabled and am in the process of applying for SSDI. John has been having severe panic attacks and his agoraphobia has reared its ugly head.

We'll, the fact is, we would've saved even more if we knew that John would have to have three surgeries and then terminated from his job without justification. None if this was planned.
