August 2025 update: 

Thank you so much to those who have donated thus far. The family has purchased 5 large water troughs used for gardening. This month the family remembers Jackson’s earthly journey and his love and joy for the earth and gardening share with his Nana, Cindy. In honor of his 8th birthday and Cindy’s birthday, the next purchase on their hearts for the space are reading benches. We will continue to update photo progress. With love and light. 

It is with deep respect and gratitude that I launch this fundraiser, not only to honor my chosen family but also to extend our love and support to the community that has endured loss. All donations will directly contribute to the maintenance and care of the JEMI Memorial Peace Garden in Ferguson, Missouri, ensuring it remains a lasting symbol of remembrance and peace.

The JEMI Memorial Peace Foundation (501c3) stands as a beacon of unconditional love and acceptance, dedicated to honoring the lives of children and their adult caregivers impacted by trauma and mental illness. Nestled within a serene urban-garden landscape, this memorial fosters a nurturing environment where all individuals are embraced for who they are, free from judgment and shame. Here, pain and suffering are met with compassion and understanding. We welcome community members to gather to support one another in their darkest moments and in celebration of togetherness and love. We welcome individuals and families to use the space to sit and reflect on the beauty of life and their presence within it. We remind everyone that they are never alone on their journey. In this sanctuary of warmth, every story is valued, and each heart is held close in solidarity.
