We are humbly pleading for your help and support for the Jeffrey family. Yesterday was a heartbreaking day as we mourn the egregious loss of Evette Jeffrey, who was born April 13, 2009. A precious, kind, and loving soul who was tragically and wrongfully taken from her family and loved ones much too soon. Evette was an innocent bystander riding a scooter, enjoying the sun and the company of her friends as she played about when gang violence erupted right inside of Bronx Latin Academy schoolyard. A fight broke out in the schoolyard between two rival gangs. Three shots were fired, one of those three striking Evette in the head, killing her on the spot, stealing an angel from not just her family and loved ones but from all of us. Evette just celebrated her 16th birthday on April 13, just one day shy of a month before this tragic incident took place and snatched our baby from us. Nonetheless, Evette Jeffrey was and still is a shining beacon of kindness, love, and unity for our family and the community around her. We plead for your help and support.
