I'm making this on behalf of Steve and Colleen Jarkowski, as their daughter, Olivia, is in the hospital.

Olivia (Liv) has Spherocytosis, a rare blood disorder that causes red blood cells to become round and sphere-shaped, instead of their normal disk shape. Because of this, her blood cells are more fragile and break down faster than normal red blood cells, and can stay in the spleen longer than normal.

Tuesday, May 20th, while at school, Liv developed severe abdominal pain and became jaundice. Steve and Colleen rushed her to the ER and they were since transferred to CHOP, Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.

Upon further testing, it's been confirmed that she has a blockage in her gallbladder and will need surgery to remove it. If that doesn't work, they will have to remove her gallbladder entirely.

I'm making this GoFundMe to help relieve the financial burden this will have on Steve and Colleen, while they focus on Liv's recovery. It's likely the surgery and hospital stay will cost up to $15k, minimum, and I wanted to ask our community to band around them and show our support! I know Steve and Colleen would do absolutely anything to help their family/friend/loved one and I want to show them that we have their back too.
