The start of this year has been incredibly difficult for our beloved family. We have been in & out of the hospital and ER- one son dislocated his finger, and then broke his wrist. One baby went to the ER due to breathing issues. And our other son has been in a psychosis and battling mental health issues that seemed to have arisen suddenly. He was doing really fantastic; engaging in self-directed projects, taking AP classes, obtaining his drivers permit, engineering, working at our local RPAL center.... then one day he started to decline into a sort of manic, paranoid, state of psychosis. He had been taken to the ER, has been seen by multiple doctors, psychologists, therapists, a chiropractor, and a Chinese medicine therapist. It is recommended that he receives an MRI and ongoing bloodwork, and may need to be admitted into a treatment facility. No official diagnosis has been able to be made yet. We are doing all that we can, and all that is within our power, to keep him safe, and to help him return to his previous state.

All of our efforts are extremely strenuous and have required Mama Khadija to fly in from Zanzibar to support us. Our daughter is going to school and working 2 part time jobs, she's starting college next year. Andre and I (who both work full time) have also had to take much time off of work to tend to the situation.
