J. Pierre and Max Bernardi are happy to announce that they are finalizing their designs for the Italian NOLA mural sections of the Tchoupitoulas flood wall mural. These mural sections will be completed in phases, beginning first with imagery depicting the 1800’s, such as the vegetable markets of “Little Palermo”, now known as the French Quarter, an oyster saloon, a macaroni factory, Mother Cabrini and the St. Mary the Italian Catholic Church, and the tragic Hennessey Massacre. Along with this, Tchoupitoulas Art Corridor will raise money in 4 phases of $10,000 each, completing each section before raising funds for the next. While some preliminary design work has been done, this sketch only represents an example of the imagery.
While we would like the community to come together and help fund this endeavour, we also welcome interested parties in considering sponsoring a whole section. More information is available for that. Along with research and design, here is a sample breakdown of what the funds will cover.
