Support The Iris School: Improving our Safe and Inspiring Space for Neurodiverse Students

Hello everyone! Thank you so much for taking the time to visit our GoFundMe to support structural and safety improvement projects at The Iris School as we prepare to kick off the 2025-2026 school year.

We are so excited to begin our fourth year at The Iris School, in just a couple of short weeks! As we get ready to welcome our wonderful students and their families back, we are asking for your help to support us in completing a couple of key improvement projects to our school campus.

You might remember that last year, we were successful in moving The Iris School to our new building on Concord Road in Smyrna, including the completion of some extensive renovations prior to the start of the school year. This was an incredible move for our school, and we feel so fortunate to be able to grow our enrollment, and provide a permanent space to our students that is safe, accessible, and inspiring.

With your support, we will complete the following improvement projects at The Iris School prior to the start of school.

-We have an urgent need to complete structural improvements and painting for our wheelchair ramp. This ramp leads into school, and improvements will ensure that our students have a safe, accessible path into each and every school day.

-Additionally, we need to remove the turf from our playground and place a tarp, along with a thick layer of wood chips. This project is being completed as a safety measure to provide a layer of cushioning on the playground, to assure our students have a safe and accessible outdoor space to play in each school day.

We cannot give a big enough thanks to the group of volunteers who will be donating their time to repair and paint the ramp, and complete our playground project. We are looking to raise $2500 to purchase the necessary supplies and materials in order for our wonderful volunteers to complete these projects.

We are so incredibly grateful for your support, which will improve accessibility and safety at The Iris School, as we continue to meet our goal of providing academic services to neurodiverse children and their families.
