On February 7, 2024, Horace Hylton, a beloved husband and father, unexpectedly passed away, leaving behind his wife Chanalle and their 13-year-old daughter, Chanakay. In the midst of grappling with the profound loss of her partner and the father of her child, Chanalle has encountered a series of unforeseen challenges.

Shortly after Horace's passing, Chanalle's household encountered multiple unexpected expenses. Initially, her dryer malfunctioned, leaving her unable to dry her clothes. Then, amidst the solemn preparations for Horace's funeral and the arrival of family from Jamaica and New York, her septic system began to back up into her shower, necessitating immediate attention. Although Rotor Rooter provided a temporary fix, the looming prospect of a $10,000 repair bill, potentially escalating to $30,000 if permits are required to dig up the road, weighs heavily on Chanalle's shoulders.

On the day of the funeral, as Chanalle and her family made their way to the church, their van suddenly began to emit a concerning noise and started jerking. Forced to pull over, they were graciously assisted by another vehicle, but the subsequent diagnosis revealed a significant transmission issue. Dodge in Spartanburg, S.C., reported that the transmission required either a $5,000 rebuild or a $6,000 replacement.

Compounding these financial burdens is the realization that Chanalle is now the sole breadwinner of the household. Given the current circumstances, she is faced with the heartbreaking reality that she may not be able to afford to remain in their family home.
