Support the Hupchick Family: A Fight for Greg’s Life
Donation protected
The Hupchick family is one of the most kind-hearted, loving, and inspiring families you could ever meet. They radiate positivity, joy, and light to everyone lucky enough to know them. From creating music and art to making lasting memories, the Hupchick family brings warmth and love wherever they go.
Right now, they are facing an unimaginable challenge—the fight for Greg’s life. In this moment of crisis, they need our support more than ever. The emotional, physical, and financial toll is overwhelming, and together, we can make a difference.
Please consider making a donation, no matter how small. Every contribution will go directly toward easing their burden and ensuring Greg gets the care he needs during this critical time.
We know that the Hupchick family’s love for each other is boundless, and with your help, we can show them that love in return. Let’s come together to support them through this incredibly tough time.
Thank you for your kindness, generosity, and compassion.
With love,
Guenevere, Becca and Alicia

Read below for a message from Greg’s wife, Alyssa Hupchick:
On March 14, 2025, our lives changed as we knew it- forever. What sent Greg to the ER, symptomatic of a TIA, ended up in a diagnosis that would rock our world.
The initial finding was a Right Parietal (Brain) Mass at CCH. After being airlifted to HUP hospital in Philly (Penn), the layers of news kept unfolding. A second (smaller) tumor was found on the Right/back cerebellum, but what brought us to our knees was that these tumors were metastatic due to STAGE 4 LUNG CANCER.
Greg has never smoked a day in his life, he’s healthy, physically active, and our diet at home is already streamlined due to our son with P.A.N.D.A.S. This news didn’t even make sense, but none of that mattered- we had to pick up the pieces and act quickly. Greg underwent a craniotomy/tumor resection surgery on 3/17/25 to remove a golf ball-sized tumor on his parietal lobe. Furthermore, on 4/4/25, he had Gamma Knife (pinpoint-targeted) Radiation Treatment to treat the surgical cavity, the second smaller mass on the cerebellum (which had grown from 3/19), and a third finding- a small mass on his frontal lobe. Both procedures were successful, but we are awaiting the MRI follow-up in 2 months to know just how successful it actually was.
In the meantime, we are also awaiting bloodwork to dictate the next steps with our oncology team, whether Targeted Treatment (pills) or Chemotherapy & Immunotherapy, to shrink the tumor on his R upper lobe and prolong his life.
We spent our 29th anniversary in the hospital on 3/16/25 (the day before surgery), not knowing what the outcome would be. In our greatest moment of despair, we dug deep to find profound peace and absolute love for one another. Greg just celebrated his 49th birthday on 4/6/25. 49 years young…and this heartbreak is happening. To say we are grateful for each day spent together is an understatement. This past month has taught us to LIVE IN THE PRESENT and to take each day as it comes with grace and gratitude.
For those who know Greg on a personal level, know that he’s a skilled artisan woodworker and guitar player. He has been self-employed over the past 3 years, but since his diagnosis, he hasn’t been able to step foot in his shop or earn income to help support our family of 6. His focus is on rest and recovery, as it should be. His ability to return to doing what he loves most will be determined with time. While Greg is giving this all he’s got, I (Alyssa) am by his side, as his primary caregiver, trying to figure out the balance between returning to work, our four young children (Cole-18, Carter-10, Max & Maeve-8), Cole starting DCCC in the fall and all the things on a single income. To be honest, we were struggling before the diagnosis & now our world is turned absolutely upside-side-down.
We have always taught our children to look for those in need and say, “How can I help?” It’s what carried our family through other hard times in life, and it’s what I hope for our children to be for others in need. It goes without saying that our family of 6 is in its greatest moment of need right now. No gesture will go unnoticed, and no amount is too small, seriously. While we navigate this new life, we need help with the simple everyday things like groceries & bills. We’ve also experienced costly setbacks with our only vehicle. We also need help with medical bills & affording holistic treatments, supplements & care from specialists that come with out-of-pocket costs. People who I know will be of significant impact in this fight alongside our oncology team. Some of our care/treatments are in Philly. Gas, food, parking etc. all add up. We also would love to do things together as a family when/as he can, to create mindful moments and lasting memories together. Normally, we are a family who doesn’t get to travel, doesn’t order out- just a rare birthday sushi celebration, shops discounted groceries, etc. Every penny counts in our family. So this would be last to happen- but it’s so, so important for all of us.
While we have hardly processed this all since March 14, 2025…we know that Greg is in for the fight of his life! But what I also know is he has so much more life to live & so much more yet to do. As his wife, I could fall to my knees asking WHY? But that wouldn’t help him in his fight! I need to push through my grief and search for the best ways to care for him, call on help when we need it, and be by his side, as I always have, through sickness & health. Please help me in uplifting him. Your offering is appreciated more than you know.
